Innovating Thermal Energy Storage with Advanced Phase Change Materials (PCM)
Providing comprehensive thermal regulation solutions from raw materials to finished cooling products.
What is a Phase Change Material (PCM) ?
A phase change material (PCM) is a type of thermal energy storage material that absorbs, stores, and releases large amounts of heat during a phase transition—typically from solid to liquid and vice versa—at a specific temperature range.
Unlike sensible heat materials, phase change materials store thermal energy through latent heat, allowing them to maintain a stable temperature while charging or discharging heat. This makes PCM an efficient solution for thermal regulation, temperature control, and energy efficiency across a wide range of applications.
PCMs are widely used in cold chain logistics, personal and wearable cooling products, building thermal comfort, electronics cooling, and HVAC thermal energy storage systems. Depending on the application requirements, different types of PCM—such as normal paraffin based PCMs, salt hydrate PCMs, organic and inorganic PCMs—can be selected to achieve precise and reliable temperature control.
At PCMCOOL®, we develop and apply phase change materials to transform thermal energy storage into practical, scalable solutions for industrial, commercial, and consumer applications.
